This is the Home Page of the Starr's Mill High School Speech and Debate Team.

The Starr's Mill High School Speech and Debate Team is a nationally recognized forensic program that competes throughout the Southeastern United States. During the 2005-2006 season the team competed at more than fifteen debate tournaments, speech competitions, and forensic conferences. Throughout the season the team brought home a multitude of first place trophies and qualified thirteen competitors to the National Forensic League's National tournament in Dallas, Texas.

The members of the speech and debate team compete in Extemporaneous Speaking, Public Forum Debate, Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Original Oratory, Impromtu Speaking, Model United Nations, Student Congress, and various other forensic competitions. Starr's Mill High School is also proud to have held the GHSA State Champion in Extemporaneous Speaking from 2002 through 2006, the GFCA Lincoln-Douglas State Runner-up for the last two years, and the GHSA State Runner-up Literary Team in 2002 and 2004.

The Starr's Mill High School Speech and Debate Team is gearing up for another outstanding year. This year the team is stepping up the pace and competiting at five nationally rank tournaments throughout the United States. The team will also host our fourth year of the Winfield Scott Debate Classic. The Starr's Mill coach, Mr. Sean Bennett, is quoted as saying, "The only true failure that I have as a coach is that I constantly underestimate my team. They have never failed to astonish and amaze me, and I don't think that they ever will."
